Database systems (semester V)

Basic aspects of database construction and working. Acquaintance with the method of describing basic database structures, overview of the most commonly used database management systems software. Knowledge about rules concerning data semantics. Presentation of the client-server systems. Overview of the typical DBMS. Discussion of the SQL language principles. Creating a data base project using the Interbase environment. Description of the project requirements.

Numerical methods (semester II)

During the term student will develop basic skills in analysis and application of scientific computing methods in electronic eng.

LECTURE: Floating point arithmetic, errors in numerical analysis. Systems of linear equations. Interpolation and approximation. Richardson extrapolation, numerical differentiation and integration. Nonlinear eq. and systems of nonlinear eq. Roots of polynomials. Eigenvalues and eigenvectors. Ordinary differential equations. Simulation. Matlab programming. Applications in signal and image processing.

LABORATORY: Numerical methods algorithmization and programming in Matlab. Testing of Matlab procedures of scientific computing. Documentation of scientific computing.
